CMU adalah Computer Modern Unicode, sebuah proyek dari tim LaTex yang meng-convert high quality font di LaTex menjadi format font X11 yaitu format OpenType (TrueType Open), Postscript Type1 (pfa/pfb) dan Sample Font Database (sfd) dan mendukung Unicode.
Sampai saat ini proyek ini telah menghasilkan 21 font, yang paling utama adalah tiga keluarga generik (serif, sans serif dan monospace) yaitu CMU Serif, CMU Sans Serif dan CMU Typewriter Text. Sekarang font ini saya pakai di window manager dan di browser.
Download versi OpenType, extract ke direktori ~/.fonts.
