Pernah nggak bermain-main dengan kucing yang kalo kita lempar kucing tersebut muter-muter di udara tapi tetap saja yang mendarat pasti kakinya duluan, ya walaupun agak sempoyongan. *sadis deh masa kecil gua*

Nah, keajaiban alami si kucing tersebut menjadi konsep untuk pembuatan robot yang harus mendarat di luar angkasa sana.

If you’ve ever seen a cat land on its feet after falling while upside down then you’ve seen the idea behind our project. Cats have the interesting ability to turn while they are in the air. this sounds simple and unspectacular, but try it and you’ll understand just how interesting a motion it is. The key is to realize that the cat is not pushing off of something to give itself any angular momentum that then carries over into the free fall, the cat acutally produces a net rotation while maintaining a net angular momentum of zero. It does this by changing the rotational inertia of parts of its body while rotating them relative to each other.
